Title: An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street
Author: Jaimie Admans
My Rating: 5 out of 5
A tale as old as time…
Since her mum’s death, Marnie Platt has shut herself away from everyone who cares about her. Worse, her beloved bookshop on Ever After Street is suffering too. With sales down and the shop’s garden falling into disrepair, Marnie risks losing the very last thing she loves. Until a chance encounter with her surly and reclusive neighbour….
Dark and brooding, Darcy O’Connell likes to keep himself to himself. But when he hears Marnie needs help, he can’t turn his back on her. Soon they are spending most evenings together in her enchanted garden and a friendship starts to bloom…
With the help of old and new friends on Ever After Street, Marnie’s bookshop begins to thrive again, and with Darcy’s kindness, she starts to get her sparkle back too. She just can’t understand why Darcy continues to shut himself away – especially from her. Can she convince him it isn’t too late to embrace life, and maybe love, again?
Because every story, even theirs, deserves a happy ending….
My Review of An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street
This is such a heartwarming read. Marnie is struggling – with grief after Mum’s death, but also her beloved bookshop, A Tale as Old as Time, on Ever After Street is failing. No customers, and certainly no customers who are spending money. And with grief overcoming her every being, Marnie has no idea what to do to save her failing business.
Owner of the flower shop next door, the dark and mysterious Darcy O’Connell keeps himself to himself, that is until he hears Marnie needs help, and seeing how distressed she is and knowing that he can’t turn his back on her, he decides to help out. Soon they are spending many evenings together and a beautiful friendship develops between them both.
Boding over their joint love of books and reading, it is beautiful to watch how their friendship develops slowly and gradually and come up with a plan to save Marnie’s beloved bookshop. An Enchanted Moment on Ever After Street is one of the most heartwarming and beautiful stories I have read in a very long time. The addition of the Beauty and the Beast theme being weaved into the storyline of the book is just so magical, and the characters of Marnie and Darcy are so realistic and touching – this book pulled on my heart-strings so much – without a shadow of a doubt, this is a must-read ♡
