Synopsis
Family is everything…
In the years since her death, Gemma has been running her late mother’s café with devotion, and when an opportunity comes to buy out her next-door neighbour and expand, she jumps at the chance.
She knows she will do her mother proud – keep her legacy going strong – but deep down she knows there’s still something missing. With her mum in her mind more than ever, and the knowledge that she may never start a family of her own, she can’t stop thinking about what life has in store for her.
But sometimes family are those you choose, or those who choose you! And with a growing community of supporters cheering Gemma on – including some new faces at her blossoming bistro – and maybe one in particular, will she really spend the rest of her life alone?
My Review of Finding Family at the Cornish Cove
Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is the second book in the Cornish Cove Series, but can also be read as a standalone book. This story focuses on cafe owner, Gemma – who has taken over the running of the cafe that her late mother owned before she sadly passed away. Gemma wants nothing more than to continue the legacy for her Mum and make the cafe a huge success. So she decides to expand the business.
With the expansion taking place, Gemma needs to take on more staff, so when teenager Occy applies for a job at the cafe, Gemma decides she needs to check with her Dad – Jude – first of all before she hires Occy. And this is where the fun starts – as soon as Gemma and Jude meet each other, the chemistry between the two of them is obvious to anyone. However, both of them are staying clear of relationships after both being hurt so badly in the past.
As Gemma and Jude spend more and more time together, we see their friendship bloom. Will either of them be willing to let their guard down and give into the relationship they both so clearly want, or are they destined just to be really good friends?
Finding Family at the Cornish Cove is a beautifully written story, packed full of life, laughs, love, and friendship – all finished off with a huge dollop of emotion. A beautiful and emotional read – add it to your TBR pile today 📚
