Title: Finding Love at Roseford Blooms
Author: Fay Kennan
Genre: Romance
My Rating: 5 out of 5
Synopsis
After a rough year, the last place Lizzie Warner wants to be is Roseford. It may be a picture-postcard country idyll, but for Lizzie it will always hold difficult memories from her past. But when the alternative to staying with her Aunt Bee, owner of Roseford Blooms, is moving back in with her controlling parents – well, the choice is easy.
Simon Treloar was born and raised to be the Lord of the Manor, but now he’s had to hand over his beloved Roseford Hall to a heritage charity, he begins to question his usefulness. Can he find a way to make his mark, or is it better to walk away from generations of history and strike out on his own?
When Lizzie and Simon meet, they recognise kindred spirits in each other. But with both questioning their futures, can one magical summer in Roseford help Lizzie and Simon move on from what is holding them back? Or is there too much history on both sides for them ever truly to be happy together?
My Review
Having already read and loved Winter Kisses at Roseford Cafe, I just knew I was going to love this story just as much. Finding Love at Roseford Blooms is the third book in the Roseford Series, but each of the books can be read as a standalone story – although I highly recommend reading the whole series – I am in doubt you will love the whole series.
This story focuses on Lizzie – after an awful year in which she not only has to cope with the loss of her long-term relationship but her marketing business which she jointly owned with her ex. A car accident and the recovery from her injuries just make things even worse for Lizzie. The comforting retreat of her Aunt Bee’s flower shop in Roseford is the perfect place for Lizzie to recover from her injuries, and think about what she wants from her future.
Simon Treloar was born and raised to be the Lord of the Manor at Roseford Hall, but now having to hand over the Hall to a heritage charity, Simon is feeling quite useless and begins to wonder what his life is all about. When Lizzie and Simon meet, they form an unlikely friendship, but with both of them considering their future lives – they both see a lot of themselves in each other. As their friendship grows, can they both move on from their past hurt and be happy or are Simon and Lizzie just not meant to be anything more than friends?
Finding Love at Roseford Blooms is such a beautifully written story, with characters that are so real – I can’t wait to read more from Fay Keenan, and I totally recommend adding this book to your TBR pile.
