Synopsis

Normally Poppy deals with her difficult family – two parents, one brother, a couple sisters and an assortment of nieces and nephews – by keeping a county or two between her and them. But with her little sister about to get married there’s no avoiding the week-long family holiday in Cornwall.

The trip was always going to be a catastrophe, but Poppy never imagined how much her family needed her professional skills… Nor did she expect to meet a sexy surfer on what was supposed to be the most unromantic holiday ever.

Can a nightmare holiday lead to the love of a lifetime?

My Review of An Un Romantic Comedy

Having already read and loved Someone Else’s Honeymoon, I knew I was going to love this story from Phoebe MacLeod as well. The story focuses on main character Poppy – a 33-year-old sexual and relationship therapist, and the black sheep of her family. Poppy’s sister is getting married, and Poppy is expected to spend an entire week with her family getting everything ready for the wedding.

Knowing that the entire trip is going to be a complete disaster, Poppy wishes there was something she could do to get out of it. What Poppy is certainly not expecting is that seemingly all of her family members really need her professional skills in various different ways. Add to that, meeting the adorably cute surfer, Sam, this turns out to be a very unexpected trip for Poppy.

An Un Romantic Comedy is such an adorably sweet read, but with so many laugh-out-loud moments – the perfect read if you are looking for something light, fun, funny, romantic, and heart-warming.
