Synopsis

De-Twat Your Life! charts the challenging and remarkable story of Carolyn Hobdey’s path out of despair following the loss of everything she had known: a long-term relationship, beautiful home, high-powered job and ‘ready-made’family. It’s a tale from self-loathing to self-love, and of finding the courage to stop dimming her inner light.

Documenting Carolyn’s trials and triumphs as she pieced together the disparate parts of her shattered life and embarked on a long-overdue transformation that changed her mind and body, she shares the breakthrough moments that led her to develop the unique SELF Steps.

They are the ‘how to’ guide for anyone who wants (or is forced) to undergo change in any area of their life. This is practical, honest change, not out of a textbook but learnt from real life. Its heartfelt style will resonate if you’ve ever struggled with self-doubt, feeling ‘lost’ in your life, or with simply Being yourSELF. Are you left wondering if ‘this is it’? No longer will you need to flounder alone, De-Twat Your Life! with Carolyn’s straight-talking SELF Steps to guide you along a new path to fun and fulfillment in a life that you choose and you define.

My Review

De-Twat Your Life is the second book in the ‘Twats Triology’, however, you don’t need to have read the first book in order to get so much from this book. For me, reviewing this book couldn’t have come at a better time – I have really been struggling a lot recently and feeling quite lost with myself and the direction of my life.

The idea of working on mySELF has always been a difficult thing for me to get my head and heart around – I know that I don’t want to carry on the way it is, so I need to make so changes. I love how this book is divided into four main sections – each focusing on the stages of becoming your best self: Self Seeking, Self Expression, Self Love and Self Fulfilment. Each chapter is fairly short, with lots of tips and life lessons – which is really easy to read and actually take on board without feeling quite overwhelmed.

I found reading De-Twat Your Life really helpful and felt very positive in actually wanting to make changes and working on my SELF for once, instead of always putting others before my own needs and wants. A must-read for anyone who has had times of feeling lost and just unsure what to do.
