Synopsis

Ed & Lily have a problem. It’s the day before Christmas Eve and the relationship everyone believed was rock solid is in trouble. It’s not just the past getting in the way, it’s the present too.

They’ve got thirty-six hours before they fly to Iceland for a snowy Christmas break. Can they resolve their differences or will their plane leave London without them?

A story about love, loss, and chasing your dreams.

My Review of Ed and Lily

We are introduced to the main characters, Ed and Lily, just as they are getting ready to fly to Iceland for their Christmas break. As they both make their way separately to London to meet each other before leaving for Iceland, they both wonder if this really could be the end of their relationship. Things haven’t been right between the two of them for some time, and they both know they have a lot to talk about if they are going to make their relationship work again.

As the story progresses, the narrative switches between hearing from Ed past and present and also Lily past and present. We discover the emotional rollercoaster they have both been on in the past and how they seem to have become lost as individuals in a relationship. Can they really get to the heart of what is troubling them both, or is it really the end for Ed and Lily?

Ed and Lily is a unique story, told from the perspective of both main characters. I found it to be very honest and refreshing of what it sometimes can be like for two people who have been in a relationship for a long time – you sometimes feel like you are losing your own identity, and this story. A really lovely festive read for those who like their romance a little more real.
