Sometimes you just need a little Christmas magic to make your wishes come true…

When master chocolatier, Charlee, takes the leap to move to the picturesque seaside town of Whitsborough Bay, she is determined to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and set up a chocolate shop.

Luckily, she finds the perfect location for Charlee’s Chocolates on beautiful Castle Street… Now she just has to refurbish it in time for Christmas! With a useless boyfriend and countless DIY disasters, Charlee doesn’t know if she’ll make it in time. With no ‘traditional’ family to support her, she feels lost in her new surroundings and the secrets of the past are weighing her down.

But the warmth and festive spirit of the Whitsborough Bay community will surprise her, and when plumber, Matt, comes to the rescue, it might be that all of Charlee’s dreams could come true this Christmas, and she could learn what family really means…

My Review

Being such a huge fan of Jessica Redland’s writing and having already read and loved Christmas at Carly’s Cupcakes, I knew I was going to love Christmas Wishes at the Chocolate Shop just as much. The story follows the main character, Charlee, who has just lost her beloved Gran and is now very much at a crossroads in her life. Her boyfriend Ricky is moving to Whitsborough Bay where he grew up, for work, and he persuades Charlee to sell her grandparents home, and join him, which is how she decides to set up her very own Chocolate Shop.

It would seem the more successful Charlee is getting with the Chocolate Shop, the less Ricky wants to spend time with her – preferring to spend his evenings with his old mates getting drunk. At the same time her relationship with Ricky is almost over, the lovely Matt makes his appearance in Charlee’s life. Matt is a plumber who comes to Charlee’s rescue and saves the Chocolate Shop from disaster.

It really is a case of love at first sight for Charlee. There is just one small problem though – Matt is not only seeing someone else, but actually engaged to be married! Will Charlee and Matt get together? Or is it a case of the one that got away for Charlee? Christmas Wishes at the Chocolate Shop is a beautiful, heartwarming and romantic story – a festive must-read for everyone.
