In today’s post I wanted to talk about wedding guest outfits. After being postponed last year due to Covid, one of my very best friends is getting married next week and I cant tell you how excited I am to be a part of their special day. Thankfully, I have my outfit choice sorted, but deciding on what to wear to a wedding as a guest comes with its own set of rules – don’t wear anything too short or too flashy and definitely don’t upstage the bride and wear white!
So, what is the perfect wedding guest outfit that is comfortable to wear for the day, but lets you throw some shapes on the dance floor without worrying about flashing too much flesh? Let’s take a look at some outfit ideas to be the best dressed guest on the day.

Midi Dresses
Knee length midi style dresses are a great choice whether you’re attending a wedding at a registry office, church, or even a beach wedding. A midi dress can be both classy and special and choosing one that has sheer sleeves or a body con type fit can add just that that extra bit of wow factor.
Patterned Dresses
Prints and patterns on a dress are a great way to stand out at a wedding without having to add to many accessories. Dresses for wedding guests don’t have to be boring. Prints are a great way to stand out without loads of accessories. Animal prints and florals are perfect for spring and summer weddings, paired with very simple accessories make for a perfect wedding guest outfit.
I have a massive drawing to anything that is polka dot, which is another beautiful pattern of dress for a wedding guest outfit. Bombshell London website has some incredible polka dot style dresses in a variety of colours and styles, including navy, brown, blue and green. The navy polka dot tie front shirt dress is incredibly beautiful and classy. Simply add some plain heels, a clutch bag and some beautiful dainty jewellery and you have the most beautiful wedding guest outfit.
Bold Colour Dresses
Be brave with colour, especially if you are attending a wedding abroad, its a great opportunity to be a little more experimental with colours you might never really wear – hot pink, red and blue are all incredible colours for summer weddings especially. And one great thing about wearing bright colours is that you will never close with the bride!
Jumpsuits
Have you ever considered wearing a jumpsuit to a wedding? A wedding guest outfit doesn’t aways have to feature a dress. Jumpsuits can be chic, smart and really comfortable to wear. Choose a jumpsuit that has lace sleeves or in a silk material will add that extra bit of glamour to the outfit, with a simple pair of heels, a clutch bag and some beautiful jewellery, you will look wedding ready in no time.
Whatever the type of wedding you are attending, hopefully you now know there really is a dress that you will love and will suit you, your style and your body shape.
