Synopsis

Peach is excited to hear that her sister, Di, is getting married. Of course, she would have preferred her little sister to be engaged to someone she’s known longer than a week – and the fact that his name is Charles doesn’t bode well – but who is she to judge?! Afterall, her own love life is non-existent, and who doesn’t love a destination wedding…?

Whisked away to the gorgeous Italian coast, Peach assumes her role as chief bridesmaid and, despite her reservations about the groom, she tries to ensure everything goes to plan.

But weddings are never straightforward affairs… throw in some unexpected guests in the form of ex-boyfriends and one night stands, and soon enough there is more drama than a reality tv show.

Can Peach keep the show on the road, or might she end up in a whirlwind romance of her own…?

My Review

OMG, I loved this story!

Being such a huge fan of Portia Macintosh’s other books including Faking It and Stuck on You, I already knew I was going to love Life’s A Beach, but I just didn’t realise how much I was going to love it! We are introduced to the character of Peach (Penelope) is a mystery shoppers – she reviews everything from restaurants and hotels to wedding venues. Her best friend and sister Di is on holiday for a destination wedding. Peach cant wait for her to come home so she can spend a girly night together on one of Peach’s assignments at a hotel near the airport.

While waiting to collect Di from the airport, the plane ends up being delayed, and Peach starts chatting to a super cute guy called Matt who is waiting for the same flight. They get on so well, Peach invites him for dinner with her, and they end up spending the night together. That is, until the follow morning when Matt has just disappeared.

Beach Wedding

Putting her feelings about Matt aside, Peach meets her sister Di, who has some exciting news to share – Di is getting married – to a guy she met on holiday – and the wedding is happening in Italy in a week’s time! Heading to the airport a few days later, Peach is desperate to make sure her sister isn’t making a mistake. What Peach isn’t expecting is to run into Matt again – he happens to be the groom’s best friend. As well as her ex-boyfriend!

Life’s A Beach is such a brilliantly funny read. The characters are beautifully written and I adore how their stories intertwine and connect together. A fun, light-hearted romance with some unexpected twists and turns along the way. My recommendation – you MUST read Life’s a Beach!!
