Synopsis
Divorced and keeping a heart-breaking secret, Abbie Potter is sleep-walking through her life as a publicist at a London football club. Though she’s already prepared for a fresh start, some shocking news pushes her to take an opportunity even further from home – in Salt Lake City.

My Review
I loved this book! The story centres around the main character, Abbie on her journey of self-discovery and starting over. Abbie has been struggling to get over the divorce from her ex husband, Josh. He has now moved on with a new relationship. And to make matters worse, Abbie finds out that Josh and his new partner are expecting a child. Fed up with her life and her job, Abbie knows she needs to make changes. When she is offered a dream job offer – in Salt Lake City – she decides to take up the offer and move across the world.
Moving half way across the world to start a whole new life, Abbie immediately makes an impression in her new role – and not just with her new boss. She catches the eye of her colleague, Kyle, who takes Abbie under his wing. Fondly referring to her as ‘England’ Kyle insists on being Abbie’s personal tour guide. The more time they spend together Abbie realises she is developing feelings for Kyle. Can Abbie trust her own judgement and take the risk of letting herself fall in love with Kyle? Or will the pain of her past stop her from moving on?
Half The World Away is an incredible story about starting over and believing in yourself. I really loved the style of writing from the author. With this being her debut novel, I cant wait to read more from Rebecca Banks. If you are looking for a story full of love, laughs, fun and friendship, the Half The World Away is definitely for you!
