Try and go to bed at the same time every night

Having a set bedtime every evening will help you and your body get into a good sleep routine easier. Maintaining a regular bedtime, you will naturally start to feel tired at the same time every evening. This is your bodies way of telling you it is ready for rest and recuperation.

Don’t sleep in

Going hand-in-hand with having a set bedtime, making sure you get up at the same time every morning is just as important Even on a weekend, when you might feel like having a lie-in after a hard week, try and get up at the same time. Your body will thank you for it, and you will have more time in the day for fun things!

Put your phone down

This is crucial to having a good nights rest. Blue light from electronic products is really disruptive to sleep, since it disrupts melatonin production and tricks your brain into thinking it’s daytime. Try and stay off your phone, iPad and any other electronic products at least an hour before going to bed. This is one thing that I need to get better at, as I am always scrolling through my phone when I get into bed!

Pick up a good book

Spending some time every evening reading a good book really can help to switch off and relax before going to bed. I love reading. It really helps me to relax and unwind at night, and I can easily get lost in a good story. Choose a book that will help to relax and unwind you, maybe something like a chick-lit, which doesn’t require too much thinking to enjoy the storyline.

Comfy and luxurious bedding

Making your bed as comfortable as possible will have a huge impact on your quality of sleep. Choose luxurious high thread-count, 100% cotton bedding. I love classic white crisp bedding for that hotel-inspired feeling. Don’t forget your pillows as well. Invest in a silk pillowcase for the ultimate in sleep luxury.

The 100% Mulberry Silk Pillowcase* from Calidad Home is made with 100% Grade 6A Mulberry Silk – it feel so luxurious to sleep on at night. There are so many benefits to using a silk pillowcase to sleep on, including helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and leaving your hair sleeker and smoother. The silk pillowcase comes in a range of different colours and prints – I chose the gorgeous grey colour which fits perfectly with my bedroom decor. A total game changer for me and my sleep.

These are my little tips on how to get a good nights sleep – I hope they work for you. If you are looking for some other fantastic tips on getting a good night’s sleep, then check out this post from the fab blogger Katie Floss.
