Working from home means I have so much more time to get my fix of Christmas movies! Popping a Christmas film on has been the perfect way of getting me through a long working day from home. I have a few favourites and some new ones to share with you – perfect for a cosy weekend at home.
Holidate (Netflix Original)
Fed up with being single on holidays, two strangers agree to be each other’s platonic plus-ones all year long, only to catch real feelings along the way.
Ok, so Holidate is such a cheesy Christmas film, but I actually can’t stop watching it! A typical Christmas romcom – with some very predictable storylines, yet the film had a fresh approach to the typical ‘boy meets girl’ film. Fun and romantic and I completely loved it!
Christmas Made to Order
An architect hosting his family for Christmas hires a holiday coordinator who winds up bringing much more than festive decorations into his life.
The perfect cheesy Christmas film! Such a sweet and fun cheesy film but that is what I am looking for in my Christmas movies. A great reminder that it really is about having family, friends and loved ones around you at this time of year.
Follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England.
I couldn’t not mention one of my favourite Christmas films of all time – Love Actually. I have lost count of the times I have watched this film now, but it literally has Christmas written all over it. It doesn’t matter how many times I watch it, I still cry at that scene (the one where Emma Thompson discovers her husband – Alan Rickman is cheating on her) The perfect festive movie.
Santa Claus: The Movie
The legend of Santa Claus is put in jeopardy when an unscrupulous toy manufacturer attempts to take over Christmas.
I had to include Santa Claus: The Movie as it has to be my favourite Christmas film ever. This is largely to do with when I was little, my Mum and Dad took me and my twin sister to the cinema to watch this film. The film has so many childhood memories attached to it for me, and even more so now since my Dad passed away.
Do you have any favourite festive films you love watching at this time of year? Let me know in the comments.
