My Review
I was hooked on this story as soon as I started reading. The very intense opening to the story introduces us to the character of Cain at the joint funeral of deaths of his brother and father in a tragic accident. Black-sheep of the family, Cain hasn’t seen or been in touch with any of his family since he walked out on them 7 years earlier. But he didn’t just walk out on his family. He left the love of his life – Alexa.
What has made it worse for Cain is that 3 months after he left, Alexa married his brother Liam, who was sadly killed in a tragic accident. Cain returns to the family home and business to reclaim what is his and to keep the family business going. The chemistry between Cain and Alexa is undeniable and so incredibly intense and he believes they can pick up where they left off. But, what he doesn’t know is that Alexa is hiding a secret from him. One the may just destroy them both forever.
Losing Control is fast-paced, dramatic and packed full of chemistry. The characters are so well written with the story taking us on a rollercoaster of emotional highs and lows. Having read her previous book, Getting Dirty, Rachael Stewart is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. She knows how to take the reader on a journey of emotion, unexpected twists and turns and incredible chemistry between the characters.
