The Med Kitchen is a Mediterranean restaurant set in the historic Gloucester Docks area. Serving incredible flavoured dishes from Lebanon, Syria, Spain and Greece. The Med serves food that will instantly transport you to the sunny skies and blue seas of the Mediterranean. The fab team from The Med invited me along to try out some of their favourite dishes, as well as some new additions to the menu.
The Restaurant
The restaurant is located in the beautiful historic Gloucester Docks. Overlooking the water, which would be so lovely in the summertime. The decor is beautiful. Fresh and clean but with that added Mediterranean feel with gorgeous bright colours and textures throughout the whole area.
The Food
We were bought dishes from the Tapas menu, which included Calamari, Rosemary Chicken Skewers and the most incredible tabouleh heart salad, which was served in salad leaves and had the most incredible fresh flavours I have ever experienced.
Main courses included chicken and prawn paella, mushroom penne and a gorgeous and extremely delicious burger. We were very lucky to try different beers – some alcoholic and some non-alcoholic, to accompany each type of food.
Then we came to trying out the dessert menu – and I nearly lost my mind! Well, I actually did as I was so busy eating the incredible desserts I actually forgot to take any pictures! The churros and baklava were so so good, but I think I went to dessert heaven when I tried the kanafeh – very similar to baklava, but just on another level – so yummy and very moreish!
The food at The Med was so delicious. All the food was lovely and complimented really well with the choice of drinks to accompany each course. Thank you to the whole team at The Med (and especially the very talented Chef) for inviting us to come and try out some of the incredible dishes on the menu. If you are in the area, I can highly recommend giving The Med a try – you certainly will not be disappointed.
*The meal at The Med was gifted. All opinions are my own.
