Dating can be really scary and daunting, especially if, like me, you haven’t dated for a while. Meeting someone for the first time can be so nerve-wracking things, as you just want to make a good impression on your date, so take the stress out of your first meet with some fun first date ideas.

One – Coffee Date
A coffee date is a great idea for a first date. It can be the perfect way to get to know someone for the first time. You can spend a fe hours getting to know someone, and it takes the pressure off you both and is a much more relaxed environment.
Two – Go Bowling
Bowling can make for a fun first date – the crazy shoes, lights and music of a bowling alley will instantly break the ice and is a great way to get to know more about each other – and if one or both of you have a competitive streak!
Three – Go to a Sporting Event
If you know that you both love a particular sport like football, have your first date at a game. You will both have a shared interest, so plenty to talk about, and if things are going well between the two of you, you could celebrate a goal with a cuddle – such a great way to get to know someone, and who knows, you may be attending many more games together in the future?
Four – Visit a Christmas Market
Wrap up cosy and warm and spend a few hours strolling round a Christmas Market for your first date idea – very relaxed and cosy and removes the pressure from you both, plus you can get some unique and quirky gift ideas. Find a cosy place to get a mulled wine and spend a bit more time getting to know each other.
Five – Go for a Walk
Grab a coffee and head for a local park for a good old fashioned walk. Such a good way to get to know someone in a much more relaxed environment. Find your inner child and get your date to push you on the swings. Fun and fresh air – the best combination for a first date.
Six – Cook Dinner Together
Agree before what you would like to for dinner on your first date. Maybe one can get the ingredients for the main meal and the other for the desert. Get together at either yours or your dates home, open a bottle of something fizzy and spend the evening preparing and cooking dinner together.
Seven – Take part in a Pub Quiz
Take it back to the old school – and meet at a local pub for your first date. Find a pub that hold Quiz Nights, form a team with your date and try and win the quiz – a brilliant way to get to know each other and pool your general knowledge together too!
What’s your favourite first date idea? Did you have any fun or memorable first dates? Let me know in the comments below.
These are all great ideas for a first, second, or even third date. I always love activity dates such as bowling, it gives you a chance to embrace your competitive side and there’s less pressure to make small talk.

Awe thank you Kim. I think first dates can have so much pressure, so to do something a bit fun hopefully will take the pressure away for both of you.
