On the Blog today, I have a Guest Post from the amazing Lady Janey about her beauty essentials she just can’t live without!
People often ask me how I manage to stay looking so fabulous. Well to be honest, they don’t really ask that specifically but there are five absolute ‘must have’ beauty products that I just cannot live without. How about you?
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat
After running on fresh air for months, Touche Eclat has become a daily essential to help hide those increasing dark circles under my eyes. What used to be bags have become suitcases so the lift this magic golden pen gives is an absolute saving grace. It’s just perfect for highlighting and refreshing make up and every handbag simply has to have one. I use it predominantly around the eye area but it can also be used to sculpt and highlight the face and shape the lips.
Clinique Superbalanced Silk Foundation and Superpowder Doublefaced Powder
I’ve tried a variety of different make up brands over the years but none have measured up to Clinique in terms of finish and ease of application. First discovered during my days of being a trolley dolly and being able to benefit from duty free prices, I’ve been using these products now for almost 20 years. In order to keep costs down, I often use my saved Boots Advantage points or keep my eye on the Ebay for any unwanted products people are selling at discount prices.
This is the world’s leading stretch mark and scar product. I first started using it after years of injections for my Multiple Sclerosis left my skin scarred and in desperate need of TLC. As I’ve got older, I’ve also seen the benefits of using the oil regularly to smooth and tone ageing skin and reduce wrinkles.
Dove Derma Spa Summer Revived Body Lotion
I’ve always been a bit anxious about using self-tanning lotions because of the fear of ending up looking like a Satsuma. However I also don’t particularly like looking like I have been permanently bathing in Daz Ultra. Luckily, I have now discovered the best product ever in the Dove Derma Spa self-tanning body lotion. If applied correctly then it provides a subtle glow, which enhances with continued use. There is rarely any streaking and the final effect is a lovely even tan all year round.
This is one of my most recent discoveries and it’s been a lifesaver on many occasions. Whether there’s just not enough time or your hair needs a bit of a pickmeup then it’s a fabulous rescue remedy as it can save you hours of washing and blow-drying time! I have a normal sized spray in the bathroom cabinet and a
handy travel sized one for when I’m on the move. The right dry shampoo can reduce greasiness of hair by absorbing oils and adds texture and bounce with minimal effort. Washing your hair on a regular basis is an absolute must in order to keep existing hairs healthy but if you’re ever stuck for a quick fix on a busy day then it’s definitely worth trying.
