As it is National Sister’s Day today, I wanted to write a post celebrating my sisters. I have 2 sisters – Tracy who is my Twin Sister, and Hayley who is 6 years younger than us.
Tracy and I have always had a really close relationship. When we were younger, my parents would dress Tracy and me in the same clothes, so it was very obvious we were Twins (we are not identical), we were in the same class at school until we were about 9 years old, so we were very dependant on each other. It was very scary when we were split up, as it meant we each had to make our own friends, and didn’t have each other there for support all the time – however, it really was the best thing for us both, as it gave us our independence.
Hayley and I never really got on when we were younger – I’m not sure why, but we always seemed to be fighting and bickering with each other about something. My poor parents went through so much stress with us.
As I got older, I realised that my sisters were so important to me. They have always been there for me, through all the good time and all the bad times. They have supported and helped me in so many ways. They are always there when life gets a bit tough, and even though we all have our own lives, partners, jobs etc. we all still keep in touch – sometimes we will text each other every day.
My whole family and my sisters are the most important people in the world to me. They have got me through some horrific times, looked after me, got me back on my feet again – without them, I wouldn’t be the strong, independent woman I am today.
