I’m sure I am not on my own, when I say that going on holiday is one of the most exciting things ever – not just for the actual holiday, but for the time in the airport before you fly. I am a bit of a ‘plane-lover’, so get very excited very I see planes taking off and landing, but also the lure of a bit of Duty Free shopping is just super exciting.
East Midlands Airport sees over 5 million passengers coming through its doors every year, travelling to more than 90 holiday destinations, and it is projected that within the next 10 years, East Midlands Airport will grow rapidly and double the amount of passengers they welcome, and one of the key elements of this is their Duty Free offerings.
I was recently invited along to East Midlands Airport, who this post is in collaboration with, to get an idea what is on offer in their Duty Free stores. The Airport currently offers a fantastic selection of stores, including World Duty Free, JD Sports and Dixons Travel.
The World Duty Free shop offers an impressive selection of fragrance, skincare, make-up, technology and alcohol, including a rather impressive selection of the most delicious sounding Gin! They now also offer Urban Decay make-up, all at Duty Free prices.
I had the opportunity to check out the shopping at Superdrug and Accessorize and a little bit of pampering at the in-house Beauty Salon.
Accesorize is one of my favourite stores for all my summer essentials. Their range of bags, shoes and jewellery are just perfect for the summer months. I instantly fell in love with the Animal Cross Strap Sandals*. I also bought the Sparkle Star Necklace*, as I have a real thing for stars at the moment, and thought it would be the perfect, dainty necklace for the summer months.
Next stop was Superdrug, which is my ultimate favourite place for buying all those beauty essentials, all at fantastic prices, and you can even redeem your Superdrug Beauty Card points as well. One of the best things for me, is that Superdrug offer all of your favourite (and essential) products in travel size – making it the perfect place to pick up anything you may have forgotten to pack.
Here I picked up some new make-up, in the hope to look a bit more glowy and bronzed in this heatwave we have been having. I picked up the Layering Lab Body Mist in Cacoon*, the Revolution Foundation Stick*, the Revolution Liquid Highlighter in Champagne*, the Rimmel Insta Fix & Matte Powder*and the Maybelline Concealer*
Finally, I headed to the Beautifly Spa, where I was treated to a fabulous manicure, and a cheeky glass of Prosecco! The salon offers a whole range of beauty treatments to get you pampered and relaxed for your holiday, they are open from 4.30am – 8.00pm every day. To book your appointment, just give them a call on 07842 100 157.
I had an amazing time at East Midlands Airport, I was just very sad not to be getting on one of the planes and flying away somewhere hot and sunny – hopefully next year!
