Perfume is one of my favourite things, and yet I never really buy myself new perfume – I usually get gifted my favourite fragrances for Christmas and birthday, so I hardly ever treat myself to a new fragrance, but on a recent trip to Boots, I saw that they were selling the 4711 Cologne, and I just HAD to get myself a bottle!
This fragrance has so many memories attached to it for me. When I was little, my granddad used to visit America quite a lot for work, and every trip he would always bring a bottle of 4711 cologne back for me and my twin sister. Sadly, he passed away when we were 9 years old, but I kept the last bottle he bought for me.
I hadn’t smelt the fragrance in so many years, and didn’t know where I could buy it from, but when I saw Boots were selling it, I knew I had to buy it. Smelling it again for the very first time in many years, bought back so many good memories of being a child and my granddad and made me very emotional.
Not only does 4711 have such a lot of memories for me, but it is such an amazing scent to wear in the summer months. The cologne contains extracts of bergamot, lemon and orange, combined with lavender and rosemary, which creates a fresh and calming scent. It really is one of my all-time favourite scents, and just perfect to wear in the summer, as it is so light and fresh.
