Aldi Diptyque Dupe Candle

Candle and notebook

Aldi have recently become super well known for their “dupe” products, and I have to put my hands up and admit that I have been totally taken in by their most recent release – a dupe for the Diptyque candles and reed diffusers.

I picked up the Fig candle, which is a dupe for the Diptyque Fig Tree candle and priced at £47.00. Aldi have also released a Berries candle, a 3 votive candle collection, and reed diffusers in the fragrances of Fig and Berries. All are priced at £3.99.

I have never been able to afford, or justify paying that much for a Diptyque candle, so I had nothing to compare the Aldi candle to. For £3.99 I wasn’t expecting the quality and fragrance of a higher end candle, but I have definitely been very surprised by the incredible quality of this candle.

I have to mention the packaging, which is very clean and modern looking, but also gives a nod to the packaging of the Diptyque products themselves. The candle itself is actually really lovely. It burns really well, and also very evenly. The scent is beautiful – I adore the scent of Fig, and this candle gives a very light scent, which is not overpowering at all.

For me, Aldi have come up with a real winner here. The candle not only smells amazing, it looks stylish and modern, and a lot more expensive than its £3.99 price tag. I think the candles and reed diffusers would make a perfect gift for someone special.

I am just gutted that I didn’t pick up the Fig reed diffuser as well – I will just have to make another truip to my local Aldi, and hope they still have them in stock!

Have you tried any of the Aldi dupe Diptyque candles or reed diffusers? What did you think? Let me know in the comments.
