My boyfriend and I recently had a bit of “Us Time” and had a night away at the Village Hotel in Sollihull. We booked the Sunday Special package, which includes Sunday night away and a 2 course dinner for 2 people for only £50.00.
We did upgrade our room to a Club room, which for me was totally worth the added small additional cost. What can I say – I basically found the bed of my dreams. The bed was the most comfiest and dreamiest bed ever.
Our room was really spacious and spotlessly clean. The TV was HUGE, and with access to a massive amount of Sky channels. We also had a Tassimo coffee machine and complimentary mineral water in the room.
There is also a small desk space area (if you are inclined to work!) and a super comfy casual chair, which would be perfect for curling up in with a good book for a bit of added extra relaxation. The décor throughout the room, and the whole hotel is very relaxed, lots of muted tones, which all work together so well. The bathroom is again very spacious, with an amazing rainfall shower and gorgeous E’Spa products.
Added in to our package was a 2 course dinner in the main restaurant. There was a set menu for the evening, but with lots of choice for all courses. For my starter, I chose the Trio of Hummus with homemade kettle chips, and my boyfriend chose the BBQ Pork Taco. Both starters were really delicious. We both chose the Village 1/2 pound Burger for our main course. So delicious and juicy, and served with rustic chips and slaw. We both enjoyed our meals so much – the food was really delicious.
Overall, I can not recommend this hotel enough. The Sunday Special package is exceptionally great value for money, and provided us with the perfect bit of time away, just for us.
