I was recently contacted by the fab team at bakerdays and offered the chance to review one of their totally cute Letterbox Cakes*. The idea of being able to send a cake in the post to someone, for me, is such a lovely gift idea, I couldn’t wait to try one out.
What is a Letterbox Cake?
The cake literally fits through (most) letter boxes. It is 12cm in diameter, and 2.5cm in height, and comes packaged in a protective tin so there is no damage to the cake at all. The ordering process is so simple and easy – the website contains so many celebration ideas and designs of cakes, most of which can be personalised with wording and you can even create photo cakes.
As it was mine and my boyfriends anniversary coming up, I chose a really cute design, and featured the words I Love You Matt (my boyfriend!), I opted for the Lemon Drizzle flavour, but you can also go for a vanilla sponge, chocolate chip, dairy free and gluten free sponges, so plenty of choice for everyone to enjoy.
What did we think of the Cake?
The cake was delicious- so moist and fresh. The design on the cake was so cute and my boyfriend was so impressed with the cake. The Lemon Drizzle sponge was yummy – it wasn’t too overpowering – just the perfect amount of lemon flavour.
We really loved our bakerdays Letterbox Cake. I think it is such a really lovey idea to send to someone as a gift. If you would like to order your own Letterbox Cake, the lovely guys at bakerdays have given me a 15% discount code, just enter BEAUTYADDICT15 at the checkout, to get 15% off your order.
