I have been Blogging for over 18 months now, and decided that now was the right time to invest more time and effort into my Blog, and first on my list of things to do was move away from my Blogger blog, take the leap and go self-hosted! Then the panic set in, how do I do it, what is it going to cost me, what if I lose all the hard work I have been doing over the last 18 months?
How do you go Self-Hosted?
I used an amazing company called Blogger2WP who helped make the transition really simple and really easy. Laura from Blogger2Wp was a total angel and took care of all the changeover for me, the only thing I had to do was buy my domain name, which I did through their suggested site – it was really easy and really cheap for a year. I also had to purchase my hosting, again I went through Blogger2WP suggested website, which was SiteGround. The package I purchased was very reasonably priced, again for a year.
Within 2 days, my new self-hosted Blog was live and ready to go. I just want to say a huge Thank You to Laura at Blogger2Wp as she made the whole process very easy and straight forward, and I couldn’t be happier with my new Blog.

I am not interested in going self hosted anytime soon, however in the future I do think I might want to try it out! However because you are using a different web address and are now not on a hosted site, blogger, how do your readers find you again? It might sound like a silly question, but I genuinely do not know! Congratulations on going self hosted, it must feel so freeing now! xx

Thank you for your really sweet comments. I am super pleased to have gone self-hosted. In terms of my readers from my old Blog, I still have that 2live2 as such, so anyone gets redirected to my new Blog x

I also recently went self hosted, but I did the migration myself. So far, I think my new blog looks pretty ok. It’s missing a few things here and there but I’m slowly working on it. I think it’s giving me more experience oh how WordPress and plugins and all of that work! I can’t even tell you many panic attacks I’ve gone through because I messed around with wordpress and caused the site to shut down xD
