As we are now officially in December, I thought I could share a few of my Christmas favourites with you by doing the Christmas Tag!
1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie(s)?
I love watching all the cheesy Christmas films on the film channels they put on over Christmas – you know the kind, it usually goes something like boy meets girl, they fall in love, something happens, but they get back together just in time to celebrate Christmas! I also love some of the classic ones too – my favourite has to be Santa Claus The Movie – my mum and dad took me and my twin sister to see it at the cinema when we were young, and ever since then I watch it every single year without fail, and I still love it as much as when I was little.
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
I have always opened my presents on Christmas morning. When I was little, we had to wait until my mum and dad to wake up and take me and my 2 sisters downstairs to see if Santa had been. Now, I am older, I open some presents at home with my partner in the morning, and then usually go to my parents house, where my sisters and family all open the rest of the gifts together.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
I loved going to the Carol Service at our local church on Christmas Eve – all my family would go together and it was so lovely – we would then go home and have a family dinner together, hang our stockings up on the fireplace (yes, real fire-place) and then go to bed ready for Santa to come!
4. Favourite Festive Food?
I literally live for Christmas Diner – I love turkey and all the trimmings and piling my plate super high, and the Christmas Pudding with custard and cream for dessert.
5. Favourite Christmas Gift?
That’s a super hard one for me, because over the years I have had some amazing gifts from my family, partner and friends, but the best gift I have on Christmas Day is that all the people I love are in the same place for a few hours, which doesn’t happen much throughout the rest of the year, and I just love spending time with my incredible family and partner.
6. Favourite Christmas Scent?
I just think the smell of Christmas Dinner cooking when I walk into my parents house on Christmas Day is just incredible – its so welcoming and so homely and just makes me feel protected and safe – I guess a bit like my Mum is looking after me by cooking this wonderful Christmas Dinner.
7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
When I was younger, my whole family would go the Carol Service at our local church on Christmas Eve. The last few years I haven’t really done anything, but last year, I went with my partner to our local Cathedral for the Christmas Eve service. It was a beautiful service, done by candlelight and it made me feel super Christmasy – I think we are planning on doing that again this year.
8. What tops your Tree?
A big silver sparkly star, and it looks super cute!
9. As a kid, what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for me never received?
My twin sister and I usually got the same things for Christmas, my parents never spoilt us, but we had so much love from them and all my family on Christmas Day.
10. What’s the best part about Christmas for you?
I love buying gifts for all the people I love and care about and enjoy watching them open their gifts. I love spending time with my family, partner and friends and just relaxing and enjoying quality family time together.
