Counting My Blessings

I have been through a lot in my life – a lot of really bad and really tough times. Times where you wonder if you will actually come out the other side.
But actually, you do come out the other side, and you come out a stronger person, and feeling able to cope with even more things in life.
Going through the tough times makes me appreciate my life more, appreciate the things I have in my life and appreciate the people I have in my life. So I now take the time to really think about the good things I have in my life and to be grateful every single day for everything I have.
To help me do this, I have bought 2 amazing journals, which I use on a daily basis to help me really think about my day and to celebrate all the good things in my life each day – The Happiness Planner and The Thankful Diary.
The Happiness Planner

I don’t use this one every day – which is great because it is an undated journal. Each page provides you with a prompt or a question for you to think about and answer. I love this because the questions really make me think about the amazing things and amazing people in my life and for me to appreciate all of these things and realise how lucky I am every single day.
I got my Happiness Planner from The Book Depository
The Thankful Diary

I use this one every day – before going to bed I spend just a few minutes thinking about my day and the good things that have happened. This diary again is undated, so you are able to dip in and out at your choosing. I write down 3 things that I was thankful for that day – these can include silly things, like one of my colleagues complimented me on my make-up the other day – but this made me feel good so I wrote it down in my diary.

I got my Thankful Diary from Wilko – I don’t think they still have them in stock, but Paperchase have some great alternatives.

I really find using the Happiness Planner and the Thankful Diary enables me to take stock of the most important things in my life, and to be grateful for these every single day.

Do you use journals or diaries to help reflect on the important things in life? Let me know in the comments.
