Why I signed up to do the Aspire Channel Swim 2017

For the last few years I have taken part in the Aspire Channel Swim, and I have signed up to do the challenge again this year. The idea of the challenge is that you swim the distance of the English Channel, which is 22 miles, over a period of 12 weeks.
There are several reasons why I decided to take part again this year. Firstly, for me, its always a bit of a personal challenge. I love swimming – I always told my mum I should have been a water baby, as I just feel so at home and comfortable in the water! I swam my first mile when I was about 9 years old. This Channel Swim keeps me motivated and keeps me swimming! I will need to do about 118 lengths per week over the 12 week period to finish the challenge in time.
The second reason why I decided to take part in the challenge again this year is that I have been following the Slimming World Plan for about 7 months now, and have lost just over 5 stone (have a read of how I am getting on here) but I need to add more exercise in to help me maintain my weight loss and keep me toned up.
The Aspire Charity supports people who have sustained spinal cord injuries, and helps every single person living with a spinal cord injury to live independent and fulfilled lives. If you would like to sponsor me for my Channel Swim, you can visit my Just Giving Page HERE
I would really appreciate any sponsorship you are able to give – thank you.
