I have been following the Slimming World plan for 10 weeks now and I am loving it.
I have lost 2 stone 4 1/2 pounds so far, and I have consistently lost weight every single week.
I feel so committed and motivated this time around – I have previously tried other diets and had a stint at Slimming World about 3 years ago – where I lost my motivation for it really quickly.
This time feel so different – I feel different. I think maybe I am in a different place in my life, and ready to face the challenge of getting myself healthy finally.
Let me give you a bit of background about myself – I have always struggled badly with my weight and have always been extremely self-conscious about it, and my self-confidence has been badly affected by my own insecurities, mostly about my weight.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2001 and one of the symptoms of the condition is being overweight – read my Blog post about my PCOS story here.
It has taken me a long time to come to terms with being overweight, but now I feel ready to do something about this, and make the changes needed for the rest of my life.
The Slimming World plan in my opinion, is not a diet but more of a conscious way to think about the food you are eating. The plan is fairly simple to follow – I wont bore you with all the details in this post, but have a look at the Slimming World Website to find out more.
The main thing for me that I have found is key is to meal plan and stick to it – I am very lucky – although my fab boyfriend is not officially doing Slimming World, he is eating most of the same meals as me, so it makes it so much easier to do our weekly food plan.
We have discovered some amazing recipes that we have been making and they have been so good – the Slimming World Lasagne is incredible! Last weekend, we even had a BBQ, but with Slimming World burgers and sausages instead – which can be bought from Iceland.
I get so much support from my leader Becky, who texts or phones me every week to see how I am getting on. I also get so much support and motivation from everyone else who attends my group – we are all in the same position, and everyone really encourages each other – which is such a lovely feeling.
I do really need to get myself motivated in terms of exercise, as that will really boost my weight loss and general overall good feeling. I have joined Virgin Active so I need to get my arse into gear, and boost my weight loss even more.
Has anyone ever followed the Slimming World plan? How did you get on? let me know in the comments.
